Products Description
In the Autumn hedgehogs will find a place to hibernate and start to collect leaves, grass etc to build their nest. But in many gardens, there's limited space for hedgehogs to nest safely. This hedgehog house is designed for hedgehogs to shelter, breed and hibernate inside. It will also help protect them and their babies from predators.
This hedgehog house is made of natural solid wood. These wooden hedgehog houses are durable and environmentally friendly.
They can be used in outdoor environments to provide hibernation shelter and a safe living space for hedgehogs or other small mammals such as hamsters and rabbits.
Be used in a wide range of industries.

How should I maintain my hedgehog's cage?
- Every once in a while, top up the old leaves at the entrance.
- Don't disturb the occupants. To find out if your house is being used, try an old spy trick: place a small twig across the entrance – if it's moved, someone's been there!
- If you want to clean it, do so in October – that's after hoglets have weaned but before hedgehogs hibernate.
- Hedgehogs don't like to eat and sleep in the same place, so if you're putting out food, leave it a couple of metres away (but don't put out bread, milk, or mealworms, as these aren't good for them).
What else is it used for
Hedgehogs use hedgehog houses in several ways.
Feeding Station
If you're offering food and water to your local hedgehogs, it's a great idea to place it in a feeding station. A feeding station not only keeps the food dry, but also provides the feeding hedgehog with some protection from predators and pets while eating.
Daytime Nest
Hedgehogs are nocturnal and sleep during the day. Between pets, children, and gardeners, our gardens can get quite busy during daylight hours-just when hedgehogs are trying to get some rest. A hedgehog house can offer a safe hideaway for a daytime nap.
Breeding Boxes
Female hedgehogs spend several weeks in a nest once or twice a year to give birth and raise their young, known as hoglets. This is a crucial time for both the individual animals and the species as a whole. Providing a safe environment for hedgehogs to raise their families is another excellent use for a hedgehog house.
Hibernation
Hibernation is another challenging time of year for hedgehogs. Finding a suitable site is vital to a hedgehog's survival through winter and into the next breeding season. As suitable locations become harder to find, hedgehog houses are playing an increasingly important role in successful hibernation.
Rescue Box
Hedgehogs are wild animals and should usually be left alone. However, because the species is now endangered, every individual hedgehog may need help to survive. Sometimes we may need to bring a hedgehog out of the wild-whether to take it to the vet, to help it gain weight before hibernation, or to shelter it through the winter if it can't hibernate. This situation calls for a slightly different type of house, which we'll discuss in more detail later.
