Wooden bird houses are a great addition to any garden, but over time they can get dirty and unsanitary for our feathered friends. Cleaning a wood bird house is important to prevent the spread of disease and parasites that can harm the birds. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to clean a wood bird house:
1. Empty the bird house: Before you start cleaning, make sure to remove any nesting materials or debris inside the bird house.(Our bird house can open and close for cleaning)
2. Scrub the bird house: Using a mild soap solution (such as dish soap and water), gently scrub the inside and outside of the bird house. Be sure to use a soft-bristled brush to avoid damaging the wood.
3. Rinse the bird house: Use a hose or bucket of clean water to rinse the bird house thoroughly. Make sure to rinse off any soap residue.
4. Disinfect the bird house: Mix a 9:1 ratio of water and white vinegar in a spray bottle and thoroughly spray the bird house. Leave the solution on for at least 10 minutes.
5. Rinse and dry the bird house: Rinse the bird house again with clean water and let it air dry completely before putting it back in place.
By following these simple steps, you can ensure that your wood bird house stays clean and healthy for your feathered friends. Happy birdwatching!
